~ ALL THE SKILLS ~
Master’s Reader Note ~ 13/20
Summary : A good book, but not what I expected when starting it. Why complain? Because the front cover, and all covers, show a bow, potions, scrolls, a staff… yet the hero’s skills in the first volume focus on cooking, cleaning, and tiding up. It’s a good read but NOT a book with an overpowered hero. It takes this direction more and more as the story goes on, but it’s too slow to be ranked that way.

Narrative Pace and Story Density ~ 16/20
You will need a lot of patience at the beginning of the serie, but there are no filler events, everything moves the plot forward. That’s a good thing, but I expected something else when I read it… but that doesn’t mean the pace was bad. I never skipped any part.
Overpowered Rating ~ 8/20
This Hero is not Overpowered as you can imagine. To be franck, he will win, but never how you expect. Why ? Because he will almost never win by fighting, but by being a trickster. He also has a non agressive personality. Don’t get me wrong, he will take his chance if you give it, and lie and trick people. But most of the time he won’t win by fighting alone. It’s a very peculiar trope, and it was well-written enough for me to finish the series
Quality of the plot ~ 14/20
The plot is forced a bit sometimes, but stays consistant. There are a few times where powerful character look just too stupid to be realistic, and it can be frustrating, but overall the plot keeps the same quality and the plotholes are few enough to be acceptable. The Author succeed at switching 180° for the scenario several time and conveying the feeling of instability and precariousness caused by poverty, and it’s very impressive to be able to transmit this to someone who hasn’t experienced it. This story is not predictible at all, and it somehow makes it better.
Strenght of the World-Building ~ 17/20
Original elements, a functional system that serves the plot, excellent worldbuilding that remains interesting, logical, and relevant throughout the story.
